Shelby Swan

Communications Associate

Originally from England, Shelby spent most of their life in Atlanta, GA, before moving to Denver. After studying Communication and Media Studies at Kennesaw State University, they worked in higher education, most recently managing digital marketing and communications at CU Denver Business School. She is thrilled to draw from her communications experience and support the Colorado Health Foundation's mission of improving the health of Coloradans.

Shelby knows that systems of power directly and indirectly harm people, and they have their sights set on challenging and transforming these systems. As they complete their experience as a member of the Fall 2022 Chinook Fund Giving Project Cohort, they want to dig deeper into the work happening in Colorado and co-create collective liberation, connection and belonging.

Shelby is relatively new to Colorado, having lived here for just over a year. Still, they’ve been able to find the charm that Denver and the state as a whole offer. Whether it’s the changing leaves and their reminder to slow down and rest, or the healing qualities of resting at her favorite bath house, Shelby is working to center rejuvenation and healing as a practice of radical self-care.
